Boise Youth Festival

The Boise Chordsmen hosted the second annual "Boise Barbershop Youth Festival" February 4, 2010. Singers from five Boise area high schools participated in two days of Barbershop acapella training and rehearsal. A "standing room only" show was presented by the ladies, mens and a combined chorus. Additional performances were provided by the Boise Chordsmen (Director Rich Lapp), Eu4eeuh (an internationally ranked Barbershop Quartet), Lapp's Angels (Timberline HighSchool), The Apple Street Quartet (Timberline High School) and Let's Jam (ladies Quartet) .

James Estes (Student Activities Coordinator for the BHS) and Tori Postma (Master Director for the SAI) were the clinicians who rehearsed with the singers for two days and directed their performance.

Eu4eeuh Quartet: "Every guy I talked to at the event looked at me straight in the eyes and told me they wanted to keep singing barbershop. These students truly appreciated the music that we were putting out there and were responding like it was a rock concert. Whatever it was, these are youth that had previously had zero experience with barbershop that are now planning on joining the society. And THAT is a successful youth movement"
